The department of Pothu maruthuvam is one of the mainstream departments of the siddha system having facilities for patient care, teaching and research.
The department deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treat the various non-surgical diseases. In this department students gain wide range of knowledge about both siddha concepts and modern concepts in medicine such as Thamaraga Noi(Heart diseases), Pupusa Noi(Lung diseases), Kalleeral Maneeral Noigal (Liver & Spleen diseases ) and etc.
This department has Professor and Assistant professor to carry out all academic activities. Major thrust of the department is on teaching and learning the undergraduate course as per the NCISM.
We provide good health care through, conduct regular medical camps in rural as well as urban areas. And also we conduct weekly once special NCD OPD for hypertension and diabetic.
We emphasize bedside skills and clinical decision making, along with a compassionate approach to patient care.
